Foshan City Sludge Drying Case

A sewage treatment plant in Foshan produces about 50 tons of sludge per day. In order to solve the problems of high moisture content, high transportation costs and high environmental risks in traditional disposal methods, our company has tailored a set of sludge automatic drying system for it. The design of this system complies with the requirements of the "Technical Specifications for Sludge Treatment and Disposal of Urban Sewage Treatment Plants" (HJ 2047-2015). Through the combination of multi-stage dehydration and low-temperature drying technology, the sludge moisture content is reduced from 80% to below 30%, which complies with the "Sludge Agricultural Control Standard" (GB 4284-2018) and related resource utilization requirements. The dried sludge achieves efficient reduction and can be used for brick making or fuel.

Project Technology Overview

The system adopts a treatment process that combines plate and frame filter pressing with low-temperature drying technology. After being concentrated, the sludge enters the plate and frame filter pressing equipment, and the moisture content drops to about 65% after solid-liquid separation; then it passes through the low-temperature drying equipment, using waste heat circulation to evenly dry the sludge, further reducing the moisture content to below 30%. The entire process is automated, and the control system monitors temperature, humidity and energy consumption data in real time to ensure maximum drying efficiency; at the same time, the odor control unit effectively reduces the spread of odor, greatly improves the factory environment, and complies with the "Emission Standards for Malodorous Pollutants" (GB 14554-93).

After the system was put into operation, the power consumption per ton of sludge drying was about 100 kWh, and the operating cost was 30% lower than that of the traditional thermal drying process. The dried sludge particles have a uniform texture, and more than 90% can be recycled for fuel substitution or soil improvement, helping to achieve the goals of sludge reduction, harmlessness, and resource utilization. The project significantly reduced the cost of sludge disposal and transportation volume, providing important support for Foshan City to build an environmentally friendly and efficient sludge treatment system.
